The China Knowledge  Grid Research Group (CKG) was established on July 1, 2001 when it had only three members: professor ZHUGE and two Ph.D. students.  The start-up financial support, 0.2 million RMB, came from the Innovation Fund of the Institute of Computing Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS).   The second financial support, 0.18 million RMB, came from the National Fundamental Research Plan  and the National Science Foundation of China (NSFC).   
    Through our effort, we have got a 2 million RMB financial support from the “Hundreds Talents Plan” of CAS, 0.6 million RMB from the innovation fund of CAS, and 0.4 million RMB from the NSF Grant.  Currently, we lead a cooperative team working for the China Semantic Grid Plan project --- a five year National Grand Fundamental Research Plan project (20 million RMB, approximately 2.5 million US$).  
     The group can admit two post-doctor research fellow, three Ph.D students or research assistants, and three Master research students each year.
    Our aim is to establish a worldwide resources (including knowledge, information, and service) sharing and management model and to develop the corresponding software platform. Our final aim is to establish an intelligent and cooperative platform on the Internet for problem-solving, knowledge management, and decision support . 
    The outcomes of our group are thought that benefits our society, research papers (aim at the key International Journals and the leading international conferences), software prototypes, patents and standards.  So far, we have proposed a  Resources Space Model RSM and  related theory and method for the first time, which will play an important role in the next-generation web.   A  prototype that realizes the proposed theory has been implemented.   We have proposed the key scientific issues of future interconnection environment and formed a special methodology.  
        We are working on China Semantic Grid Plan in cooperation with eight leading universities in China.
        Besides the research and technical contributions, our group will output
about five  first-class R&D talents to the society each year.   
        We have established ties with world's leading corporation such as Microsoft and IBM.
        So far, we can say that China Knowledge Grid Research Group is one of the leading forces in this new area.   We hope to cooperate with international peers to obtain more achievements in this area.

研究人员:研究员1, 副研究员/副教授/博士后4人,Research Fellow 1人,助理研究员3人,Research Associate 3人,博士生/硕士生/Research Assistant 25人,客座研究员2人,客座研究生4人。

博士生导师:诸葛海,国家重大基础研究计划973“语义网格的基础理论、模型与方法研究”项目首席科学家,中国科学院计算技术研究所研究员, 中国科学院智能信息处理重点实验室主任。2001年入选中国科学院百人计划,IEEE Senior Member。是早期倡导知识网格研究的学者之一。他早期提出语义与知识网格的核心科学问题并开展了持续的创新研究。在Communications of the ACM, IEEE Computer, IEEE Transactions on Data and Knowledge Engineering, IEEE Intelligent Systems等权威国际学术刊物上发表论文70余篇、专著2部,其中《The Knowledge Grid》是该领域的第一部专著,同行的书评发表在多种国际学术刊物上,获SONY Top Excellent Research Award。应邀在本领域许多系列国际会议(如:ICEC2006, WAIM2005, WAIM2004, GCC2003等)上做特邀报告。成果被国外同行大量引用和评论(根据Thomson Essential Science Indicators, 他的论文引用率在知识网格领域居top 1%)。 在国际学术刊物所发表的评估报告中列软件工程与系统领域Top学者(1999-2003名列第13, 2000-2004名列第1)。他多次担任关于语义与知识网格的国际刊物专辑的客座编辑和国际会议主席,发起 International Conference on Semantics, Knowledge and Grid 系列国际会议,促进了该领域的形成和发展。担任国际学术刊物Journal of Systems and Software (Elsevier Science) 领域主编,Future Generation Computer Systems (Elsevier Science) 副主编,Journal of Computer Science and Technology领域编辑,Electronic Commerce Research and Applications (Elsevier Science) 副编辑和 Information and Management编委。所培养的学生获中国科学院院长特别奖、计算所所长特别奖和微软学者奖等,获2004年中国科学院优秀研究生导师奖。在中国博士后制度建立20周年时获全国优秀博士后称号并受到国家领导人的接见。
